Dog Sitting

Last fall, I had the 'experience' of doggie sitting a beautiful Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever named Tofu. I was certain he would be Mikey's new best friend because Mike is the lover of all dogs and Colby Blind Guy is just too much energy for most other dogs. I was wrong. This video is a glimpse of how much of our weekend went (actually, it was three days).

  2. Don't feel too bad for my Blind Guy! He's well adjusted and gets along just fine (mostly). Somewhere in here there's a clip of him fetching his favorite orange squeak ball. He has a few others that are the same but different colours. He knows the difference so you can't fool him by giving him the pink one when it's the orange one he wants.

Yes... my ears! They both have very loud barks.

  3. Good grief, what a ruckus!

Don't know how your carpet stays so clean, Michelle! Ruby isn't allowed into our living area and even then, dirt gets tracked in all over my nice carpets!

  4. Oh my goodness - did they eventually settle down or was it like that for 3 days? Did you separate them?

  5. Kim, I don't think my carpets are so clean but I do clean them by 'hand' which gets any obvious spots out. I also have a tidy stash of doggie towels and they get good and dried off before coming into the house.

Jane... there were quiet moments but these are high energy dogs. It rained the whole time. Tofu's owner (a vegetarian, lol) lives in the 'city' so he's not a 'free run' dog. We put on our rain gear and let all three dogs out to run in the back fields (barren farm land). Boy, did Tofu have fun. We took a risk but he didn't take off. We figured he'd stay close to his new best friend.

  6. Glad they get along for the most part. I had dogs when I was a kid but we don't have space for a dog were we are right now. Some day :0)
