If you were a 'slogan', what would you say?

I've decided to create a new blog for my 'store'. I think the artwork looks fab! LOL! I had removed the halftone pattern from my retro gal but realized later that  she's large enough that I can keep the 'effect' so I put it back in... you know, those vintage romance comic books with giant dots in the flesh tones. (I could explain those dots in a technical manner, me coming from long career in print, but that's just boring and feels too much like work).

What I hope to do is showcase items and link to my esty store. I guess I need to network and link up with fellow vintage junkies and hope to get some traffic to my store. I never knew there would be so much to just putting stuff online to sell but I've been doing my homework for a long time and I'm sure this is the reason I've been dragging my butt. And, what if I run out of stuff to sell? I have ideas running through my head on that one... local auctions and a gal pal that I need to contact to see if she'll drag me along. I'd be lost at an auction and maybe even a tad intimidated.

Anyway... I need a slogan for my blog. Take a peek ... http://fabfindsgentlertimes.blogspot.com/

There's a large gap under 'from gentler times' and I feel the need to put something in there. But what? Any suggestions are welcome. Perhaps I should just leave it as is. At any rate, I need to keep moving on this for some reasons I can't get into... reasons that makes me crazy to even think about so I'll spare the details. Mostly though, this vintage venture is a passion I've wanted to pursue for a long time.

  1. Gosh, I wish I could help, but I'm hopeless at this sort of thing. Looks great, though!

  2. Perhaps tomorrow my brain might be functioning different. I got my usual dose of bad boss bullying today so my emotions are shut down... or something like that.

  4. I'm thinking I don't need a slogan... it's just for my blog and I can always add it later (if I can think of one).

Today was quiet but I never know what's going to hit me. You know... the work situation. One day at a time is all I can handle on that front.

    Thanks, Johanna!

  5. Michelle, Love love love the banner. Not sure a slogan is necessary? what you have looks good. You've probably already researched this butif you haven't one way to get traffic to your new site is to hit up various 'parties' on blogs like Fishtail Cottage or Common Ground (there's zillions more but these are two I follow). Parties can be garden themed, tea parties, tablescapes... Do a post on the topic at hand using whatever items you are selling (ie. vintage tea set for the tea parties) and connect to the party, voila, you've got some traffic.

  6. Thanks, Marguerite! Yes, I've already considered that. There are many blogs I follow and my plan was to start networking with them. The party thing where you're asked to do 'this, that or the other thing' with instructions how is something I never paid attention to so I'll have to get busy with my plan.

Pictures!!! I need to do my pictures!

  7. The way you have the header set up the "from gentler times" acts as a slogan so I think it's great the way it is. "Keep it simple" that's my motto!!
